Birthday Wishlist

My birthday is almost here! I'm turning 19 next Thursday (October 2), I feel old and yet I'm excited to see what amazing thing will happen in the year!

1. Finish This Book by Keri Smith - A friend of mine posted instagram pictures of her filling this book in and it seemed like so much fun and I think it's a perfect company for my long flight to Bali.
2. Check Scarf - I love scarves! I've always wanted a chunkier one and this one is perfect!
3. Mango Chunky Knit Sweater - I need a new black chunky knit sweater. My Stradvarius one is dying.
4. Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom - I have one of the Amazonian Butter Lipstick and I absolutely love it, why not try another shade?
5. Elizabeth and James Nirvana White rollerball - As a perfume junkie, I had to have a perfume on my list and I'm currently lusting over this.
6. Urban Decay Naked2 Basics - This palette has all the colors I'll ever need are there and it's not as big as the regular Naked palette.
7. Lush Tea Tree Water - I've heard so much about this toner and I really want to try one.
8. Camel colored coat - I only have 2 coats and one leather jacket to keep me warm in the colder season, I've been trying to find the perfect coat, this one is one of the nicest coat I've found and I love the camel color!

New York City
Bali, Indonesia
Two places that I miss the most right now: New York and Bali, two very different places. I went to New York few months ago with my sister and my friend; it was one of the best experience I've ever had. I love the buzz and the business of the city and I miss Shake Shack so much! And of course, I miss Bali, my hometown. I don't miss the extremely hot weather but I really miss the beach and the people. I can't wait for December!

Autumn Lips

make up forever in copper pink (N9) // wet n wild in red velvet (910D) // rimmel london lasting finish by kate moss in 01 // wet n wild in cherry bomb (918D)

I used to think beauty bloggers are insane for having that much lipstick in their collection; but now I get it, lipsticks are guilty pleasures for me. I don't have that much of them now, but my collection is growing faster than I thought it would, oops.

Today I'll share some of my favorite lipsticks for the colder months with you! I got this mini Make Up Forever lipstick last week as my early birthday gift from Sephora and I think this is a really nice "my lips but better" color for me. It's sheer and smooth, but it doesn't last very long and I have to reapply quite often (if you have any suggestion from other brands with similar color, please let me know). For bolder days, I wear red lips. I recently tried on red lips (here) and I am hooked. Red Velvet by Wet n Wild is matte and more vibrant than the one from Rimmel. But I personally prefer the formula of the Rimmel Lasting Finish better because it is a lot smoother, smells amazing, and easier to wipe off at the end of the day. And lastly, my very first berry color, oh gosh, I was so scared that I won't like the color on me, so I played it safe and got Cherry Bomb by Wet n Wild. I never thought of wearing dark, berry lipstick but thanks to other bloggers who look so amazing with their berry lips, I had to give it a go.

What's your favorite lipstick shade for autumn? Do you have any recommendations for me?

I love going through my parent's old stuff and find items like this bucket bag and oversized shirt. I have to say that they are some of the best vintage items I own (and I'm pretty sure the bag is older than I am). The shirt is very versatile and I wear it quite often — as a layering piece or wear them with a pair of leggings and boots. On the other hand, the bucket bag is not the easiest to style, I usually wear it with plain sweaters or t-shirts with it.

What is your the best vintage finds?

h&m shirt // brandy melville dress // h&m sandals // vintage cuff&rings

Summer is not quite over yet and to be honest, I can't wait for the sweater weather. I miss wearing my leather jacket and sweaters so much! University wise, the assignmnets are very time consuming, and I find juggling classes, homework, more homework, blogging, a bit of little social life, grocery shopping, and more homework quite challenging.

Anyway, to the outfit, I got this bag years ago and like some other things that I own, I haven't give it as much love as it deserves. I paired it with my go to black dress with white button up on top. For once, I didn't wear all black with this bag.

Products That Saved My Skin

the body shop warming mineral mask // philosophy purity // neutrogena skinclearing foudation // neutrogena on the spot
I had a terrible break out a few weeks ago and let me tell you, I was not happy when I found out that it was the foundation I've been using is the culprit. I love the feel of Revlon Nearly Naked foundation on my skin, but it clogged my pores. So of course, I stopped using the foundation and I try my best to deep clean with Warming Mineral Mask from The Body Shop and cleanse my skin more with the Philosophy's Purity. For the stubborn spots, I use Neutrogena's On-the-Spot, I've been using this product for years, and it helps calming down the stubborn spots. Whenever I wear makeup, I wear this Neutrogena Skinclearing foundation, it doesn't clog my pores and it feels amazing! I'm still in the process but my skin is looking a lot better now.

Do you have any suggestion for acne treatment?

My Magic Makeup Bag

1. eos lip balm / 2. gum / 3. granola bar / 4. hand cream / 5. band aid / 6. usb / 7. hair pins and ties / 8. compact mirror / 9. hand sanitizer / 10. tissue / 11. tide to-go / 12. pen / 13. perfume sample / 14. coin pouch / 15. power bank / 16. shopping bag
I know I did a bag essential post not too long ago, but I found a system that works like magic for me. I got this makeup bag at H&M a while ago as an impulse buy, I mean look at it, it's lacy and pretty, and I thought it could fit a lot of makeup when I travel. That was my justification of buying a random makeup bag, but hey, I don't regret buying it at all. In fact, look how handy it is now! I didn't realize that I actually have 16 items in it! I mean that's pretty amazing! I put everything I need no mater what, it's like a mini emergency bag, and this so-called makeup bag is always in my bag.

Why all 16 stuff you may ask? Well, I had too many moments where I don't have the thing I need when I need it the most — does that make sense? Let me give you an example, hmm, I was out and about and my phone decided to die (that doesn't happen a lot, but when it does it's not a good situation, I need google maps), I have my power bank to recharge my phone! I always have a granola bar with me because I get hungry at the most random time.

Do you have a mini emergency bag?

stradivarius sweater & necklace // esprit jeans // june+julia shoes

I love seeing people wearing boyfriend jeans, I've been looking for the perfect one for month and months and I still can't find any. These jeans were my mum's and I think they're all I have for now. I'll probably alter them a tiny bit (and maybe rip them too, who knows). When I was putting this look together, all I can think about was "I really need to invest in one of those strappy heels." I'm not tall at all and I always wear heels when I have these jeans on, I need the extra height or these jeans will swallow me whole.

How do you style your boyfriend jeans?

DIY: Cacti Planter

1. I spread out the newspaper on the floor (or in my case, a catalog). And then I started off by separating the white, black and brownish pebbles.
2. I put the pebbles in the mason jar, starting with the brownish pebbles and then the black and white ones.
ARDXdW on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs

3. I depotted the cacti, use a pair of chopsticks, try your best to avoid getting pricked.
4. I removed the soil on the cacti, not all of them, but most of them so they would fit in the jar.
5. I used the removed soil to fill the jar.
6. Putting the cacti in the jar. This was the hardest part for me.
7. Pick some smaller pebbles and carefully put them on top of the soil.

8. Voila!
I posted a picture on instagram and twitter of a mason jar filled with pebbles saying I was going to attempt a DIY and here it is! I've been wanting to do this DIY for a while now. I know I'm not the first one to do this, but I thought I would share it with you nonetheless. It took me around 45 minutes to do this (includes preparation and cleaning), which a lot faster than I thought it would be. I really happy with the result, the cacti is a bit wobbly but I hope once the roots grow, it'll be sturdier than right now.

Would you make one?

Sweater Weather

zara sweater // h&m dress, rings and necklace // urban outfitters gold fox ring

One day it's nice outside and the next is cold and extremely windy, which means one thing, it's sweater weather. I wear sweater all year round but lately has been the perfect weather to wear one every single day. This sweater is definitely my go-to sweater, it's super comfortable and it's a great layering piece!

My first week of my second year has been amazing! My instructors are amazing and I'm looking forward for the rest of the semester, the down side is the textbooks are extremely heavy! I hope my back will still be in one piece by the end of the semester. Thank you everybody who wished me good luck on my monday post, love you loads! Right, I have to go to do my homework now. I hope you're having a wonderful day!

What's your go-to sweater?

gxtreme top // brandy melville dress // thrifted bag // forever 21 pumps

I've had this burnout top for years but I didn't give it as much love as it deserves. It's a bit late because summer is coming to an end but the weather here is unpredictable and the moment it's hot outside, I'll put this baby on. Moving on to the dress, I have a slight issue with this dress, the straps are a tad too long, I altered the straps one (by altered I meant fold the ends and sew them) and I wasn't sure what I was thinking when I removed it. Since the outfit itself is pretty plain and very monochromatic, I thought the pink pumps are perfect for a bit of pop of color. And of course, I had to wear my thrifted backpack.

What would you wear with this burnout top?

Hello Second Year

Happy Monday, everybody! Just a quick post today, I've been having a little trouble trying to write things — none of my sentences make any sense to me *insert a groan in frustration. Anyway, today is officially my first day of my second year in university and I am both excited and nervous. I had to wake up really early today, taking my time to get ready before leaving to class — 8:30am classes are not my fave. Second year, here I come! Wish me luck!

Mute It Down

formula x "dynamic" // essie "navigate her"
h&m sweater & ring // mug from daiso
I painted my nails few days ago with Dynamic by Formula X and when I was sitting in front of my laptop trying to write some posts (that has been hanging around in my draft for almost a week) yesterday, I looked at my nails and I couldn't remember the last time I painted my nails with more than one color. Painting my nails is not my favorite thing to do, but when the mood strikes, you gotta go for it. So I obviously went with the idea. When I was looking through my nail polishes, I had a few options but I wanted something that doesn't contrast with the grey base and when I found this Essie nail polish I was beyond happy, I haven't wear this muted down green color for a while now.

I couldn't do anything too fancy considering I'm crap at painting my nails with my left hand, I took out my scotch tape and started making sections. And to be honest, I'm surprised how well it turns out to be (if I may say so myself).

What do you think?

Something Thrifted

You may have seen this little number on my previous post. It's funny how I just told my friend that I was torn between getting a structured leather backpack or getting a tote. And now I have both.

A few days ago I went out to run some errands and when I was walking to the bus stop, I saw a Goodwill and of course (after seeing people finding gems in thrift store) I had to go in there. I've never been to a thrift store before, maybe once back home but it was more of a market. Anyway, the store was not as big or as messy as I thought it would be and there wasn't many people. When I walked passed by the bag section, this bag was there, just casually hanging on the fixture and I instantly walked toward where the bag was and grab it. It was in an incredibly good condition, just slight scratches on the bottom and few blemish on the surface. I was debating if I should get it or not while checking the zippers (making sure it works, I had a bad experience with zippers) when I realized it was not just a tote, it can be used as a backpack, and that moment I knew I had to have it. You'll see this bag a lot more in the future, I hope you won't get sick of it. And don't worry, I'm not ditching my Miztique bag that I've over worn (here, here, herehere, here, here, here, and so on).

Have you ever purchased anything from the thrift store?

Legion of Honor

h&m top // zara jeans // thrifted bag // h&m sandals

one of my favorite artwork from the porcelain study room,

Yesterday was the first time I went inside of Legion of Honor. I went there with my friend who adores museums as much as I do (I have a list of museums I want to go to). It was incredibly foggy, but that everything still so beautiful! The building was absolutely stunning, when we first walk in through the main entrance we say these beautiful pillars and of course, we had to stop to take some pictures.

It was a great experience, one of the greatest museum I've been to! There were plenty of insanely detailed paintings, sculptures, furnitures, celling (yes, they have different celling designs), and the best part was that very room had different feel to it. I fell in love with this museum and I'll definitely go there again someday.
